Pancake making pretend play activity!

"Brain Break" sticks! Each popscicle stick has an activity on it {like spin 3x, jump rope, macarena, seat swap, etc...}.  When you see that the kids are needing a break, stop and say "man, our brains need to take a break...lets do a brain break." Then, randomly select a popsicle stick and do the activity together. None should take longer than a minute.

Add a basket of play foods and paper bags labeled 1 syllable, 2 syllables, 3 syllables, and 4 or more syllables. The kids clap the syllables of the food items and put them in the correct shopping bags. Their partner will check them out at the cash register by taking items out of the bag and "checking them out" to see if they are in the correct bag

#fun food - Eating a Rainbow - As you read each page, encouraged your child to eat the color of food that matched the color in the book. After you read through the book in the order it was meant to be read, opening pages randomly then eat that color. Fun, interactive book too!
