Jacob Maris - A Drawbridge in a Dutch Town [c.1875[ he town has not been identified but it is not necessarily meant to be a particular place, as Maris did not greatly value topographical accuracy. The lines of the bridge appear to have been painted wet in wet without underdrawing, although it is probable the artist used some straight object to create them. There is a watercolour version of the same view, dated 1875, in Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum).
