Vintage Dust Bowl-Inspired Photography - My Modern Metropolis

Photograph of an American farm woman during the Dust Bowl in the 1930′s.

Half-hidden beauty. I *adore* her freckles. Honey is the word that comes to mind, she looks sweet, and in that slightly old-fashioned honest kind of way, but also very attention catching. Reminds me very much of a cross between 1930's beauty, and the 2000's obsession with adding water to photos, especially high resolution ones of models.

This random model/picture reminds me of the famous shot of a girl in red cape, from National Geographic (Afghan Girl)

I have always dreamed of having these beautiful freckles. So jealous. And I love the contrast this image provides; I don't know whether to look at her beautiful freckles or those stunning eyes!

Kenneth J. Harvey by Galit Govezensky WyomingGeezer says: Galit Govezensky does not list where she is from. She seems to specialize in portrait work and photography of the human condition. This is what attracted me. The detail she is able to capture is stunning. I look forward to learning more about her and how she is able to capture such emotion in her work.

Girl With Green Eyes by David Lazar via flickr.com. Taken in Bangladesh, this portrait features a young lady's green eyes.

inside my heart is the girl who believed in fairy tales, the girl no one bothered enough to see. She's still there, even though my hair is silver and my heart is scarred...I just wanted someone to hold me....
