Each year, I have my middle school students make a Welcome to Middle School book for the upcoming middle school students. This writing activity is designed to introduce those new students to middle school through the eyes of kids their age. Your students will write a letter, poems, lists for surviving middle school, and other helpful tips. The students who make the book love doing it, and the students who receive the book feel important and love reading about the next grade. $
