Mr. Wright was born February 11, 1888 in Leavenwoth, Kansas. He was educated in the public schools of Leavenworth and the University of Kansas.  He came to San Antonio in 1909 from Leavenworth, and had been engaged in the business of general contracting for seven years when he was elected president of the Exchange in 1917.

President James Stephenson Skirving 1905-1906  Mr. Skirving was born in May 11, 1854 in South Shields, County Durham, England.  He attended schools in England. At the age of 21 he left England for the United States, arriving in Galveston in November, 1875. The same year he came by stage coach to San Antonio. San Antonio was to be his home until his death in February 2, 1919.

He attended a business college in the latter day.  Mr. Hummert has three marked honors in connection with the San Antonio Builders Exchange. First, he was one of its founders; second; he was in the sixth president.

He began his career as a builder when he was nineteen years old.  Moving to San Antonio with his mother in 1884, the City of the Alamo was his permanent home from that year until his death in 1940.
