Worth Reading, Charlotte Bronte, Richard Redgrave, Jane Eyre, Books Worth, Favorite Books, Classic
Favorite book. Jane Eyre is a gothic novel written by Charlotte Bronte (1847) full of dark mystery, romance, and a reflection upon the author's life. Oliver Twist has nothing on Jane Eyre; sorry Dickens.
by Charlotte Bronte Quite simply, the greatest novel ever written. No Austen, Alcott, Heminway or Faulkner novel should even sit on the same shelf as Jane Eyre.
One of my favorites. Jane Eyre is a gothic novel written by Charlotte Bronte (1847) full of dark mystery, romance, surprising plot twists and a bittersweet ending. If you are a fan I highly recommend "The Wide Sargasso Sea" to hear the story from another point of view.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte -- The first classic I ever read. I've read it a dozen or more times since.

We used to be faithful about it, but since Father went away and all this war trouble unsettled us, we have neglected many things. Worth Reading, Cold Blood, True Crime, Murder, Books Worth, Movie, Favorite Books, Truman Capote
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is one of my favorite books. I can read this in one day because it is that hard to put it down once you start reading it!
The best true crime book ever! This nonfiction novel revolves around the murder of the Clutter family in 1959, and why the murderers, Perry and Dick, committed their crimes. Author Truman Capote leads us in without judgment, and in doing so lets us come up with our own conclusions about the penal system, justice, and the nature of violent crimes.
In Cold Blood - Truman Capote. "As Truman Capote reconstructs the murder and the investigation that led to the capture, trial, and execution of the killers, he generates both mesmerizing suspense and astonishing empathy." (Vintage Books)
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. A true account of the senseless murder of the Clutter family in 1959. Capote reconstructs the investigation and the execution of the two killers and creates a spellbinding account of violence in America.
Book 49. In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote. This nonfiction novel revolves around the murder of the Clutter family in 1959, and why the murderers, Perry and Dick, committed their crimes. Finished Nov 23, 2014.
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote On Nov 15, 1959, in the small town of Holcomb, Kansas, 4 members of the Clutter family were savagely murdered by blasts from a shotgun held a few inches from their faces. There was no apparent motive for the crime, and there were almost no clues. Capote reconstructs the murder & the investigation that led to the capture, trial, and execution of the killers, he generates both mesmerizing suspense and astonishing empathy.
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Not for the easily disturbed. The first "true crime" novel.
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. I didn't want tO make a book board. Great book, ok movie

Little, Big by John Crowley - Smoky Barnable, an anonymous young man who travels by foot from the City to a place called Edgewood—not found on any map—to marry Daily Alice Drinkawater, as was prophesied.
John Crowley's Little, Big, an extraordinary, sweeping and strange novel, can perhaps be best described through the metaphor of its central setting...
Little, Big by John Crowley, one of my favorite books. A big long multi generational magical fantasy story you can get lost in. A little bit creepy too.
Little, Big by John Crowley. This book is wonderful beyond description. It will forever change the way you think about fantasy.
John Crowley's masterful Little, Big is the epic story of Smoky Barnable, an anonymous young man who travels by foot from the City to a place called Edgewood—not found on any map—to marry Daily Alice Drinkawater, as was prophesied. It is the story of four generations of a singular family, living in a house that is many houses on the magical border of an otherworld.
Little, Big by John Crowley. Smokey Barnable of the great City suffered from a terrible case of anonymity before falling in love with the delicate giantess Daily Alice Drinkwater and finding himself part of a labyrinthine Tale. He will travel by foot to her home at Edgewood, a faerie-touched manse with whimsical proportions, and marry Daily Alice. What follows is a gorgeously rambling narrative...
Sounds worth reading. Little, Big by John Crowley: A family saga anchored on the edge of a forest.
My favorite book <3 Little, Big by John Crowley: A family saga anchored on the edge of a forest that's more than it seems. A unique take on magical realism. The first half was super hard for me—the prose is beautiful, but also so calming I had trouble reading more than 20 pages a night. The last half, though, is truly lovely. One of those books that makes you feel really small and really huge in the universe, all at once.

The Left Hand of Darkness
Worth Reading, Left Hand, Hands, Books Worth, Science Fiction, Sci Fi, Darkness
The Left Hand of Darkness - Le Guin gave me a new appreciation for science fiction! Her "thought experiment" explores the dynamics of a planet whose inhabitants possess no gender.
One of my favorite books. THIS is Ursula K. Le Guin, @Kathy Chan Campbell : The Photog's Helper. // The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin.
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin tells the story of a lone human envoy to an alien world whose inhabitants can change their gender if they want. Taking up the features of psychology, society, and human emotion on an alien world, The Left Hand of Darkness stands out as one of the greatest science fiction novels. The book won both the Hugo and Nebula Awards as the year's "best novel" according to convention participants and science fiction writers respectively.
Not only is The Left Hand of Darkness a masterpiece of ideas, invention, and language, but it takes conventional assumptions about gender and grinds them into a fine, powdery dust. Published in 1969, the book won both the Hugo and Nebula Awards and went on to become one of the keystones of science fiction. It tells the story of an ethnologist sent to another planet, but it is Le Guin’s powers of imagination that turn The Left Hand of Darkness into something truly transcendent.

The Speed of Dark

Excellent story By Elizabeth Moon. A futuristic tale of a man with autisum faced with the choice of having a procedure that will cure his autisum or remaining the way he is, with all of his special gifts attributed to the disease. I would recommend this book to anyone.
The Speed of Dark | This is remarkable storytelling and character development. The main character is an autistic man, functioning in a near-future world where autism has been "cured." The book combines compelling insight into the autistic mind as well as an intriguing look at human nature, ethics, and science.
The Speed of Dark. One of the most thought provoking books I've read in a long time.

cloud atlas...this book is worth reading. Rich and full of adventure...just looking at it makes me want to read it again and experience the story.
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (2004) may be familiar to some for the movie that was made from it (and it did a reasonable job). The book is a masterpiece of story telling, science fiction and romance. A must read!
David Mitchell's mind bending book Cloud Atlas has been transformed into a film and has just been released in cinema's world wide! Before going to see it in all its Tom Hanks glory, try reading the book first, it will probably help you understand the film! #CloudAtlas #FilmAdaptations
"Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell - A postmodern visionary who is also a master of styles and genres, David Mitchell combines flat-out adventures, a Nabokovian love of puzzles, a keen eye for character, and a taste for mind-bending philosophical and scientific speculation in the tradition of Umberto Eco and Philip K. Dick.
"The beaten savage raised his slumped head, found my eye and shone me a look of uncanny, amicable knowing!" -Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. Got everything you want: philosophy, sf, thriller, Eco warriors, past, present, future, ... Did I miss anything? Well, have a go and see for yourself :)

Skillfully written and subtly beautiful. A must read Old Man's War (John Scalzi). #scifi One pinner writes "A great look at the interaction of humanity, war, politics, and intergalactic environments." I think it is a powerful comment on being human, love, war.
Old Man's War - if you like Sci Fi - this book is totally awesome and would almost compare it to Enders Game... but you know... everyone is different :)
Old Man's War (and the rest in the series) by John Scalzi. Old School scifi from a new school writer.

Book review: Old Man's War by John Scalzi - this book has many similar elements to Heinlein's Starship Troopers, but about half way through the similarities end the Scalzi is on his own. Shikasta: Re, Colonised Planet 5 (Vintage International): Doris Lessing: 9780394749778: Amazon.com: Books
Shikasta – Doris Lessing One of the most important writers of the 20th century, AND some of her works are science fiction in setting in order to tell us about ourselves today. My favorite combination.
[Shikasta - Doris Lessing] A truly cosmic novel and profound in every sense of the word while being rammed full of humour and pathos. Sci-fi for non sci-fi lovers, Doris hits every metaphysical nail firmly on the head. The kind of book you re-read every couple of years...
This is the first volume in the series of novels Doris Lessing calls collectively Canopus in Argos: Archives. Presented as a compilation of documents, reports, letters, speeches and journal entries, this purports to be a general study of the planet Shikasta–clearly the planet Earth–to be used by history students of the higher planet Canopus and to be stored in the Canopian archives.
If you want to beat yourself upside the head with really complex writing look no further than this series by Doris Lessing. A quick synopsis: “Shikasta is a novel about a future earthlike planet that has been colonized and is being documented from afar in order to see what its fate will be under the competing thumbs of complete militarization of civilian society and the possibility of a humanism in touch with earth’s natural resources.” It's good but not easy.
