Design Museum: John Pawson John Pawson, an interior architect and designer, narrated this podcast. He discussed his latest projects and current exhibition at the Design Museum. More specifically, Pawson talks about his feelings towards minimalism and how it works in his designs to achieve a feeling of simplicity and comfort. Minimalism has also been discussed throughout class and within our design projects as a way to convey both clearly and effectively the problem and how that problem is being solved. Removing the ‘clutter’ from a design and leaving only the details that work together as a unit takes a lot of time but it works effectively. Pawson also clearly states that you cannot be an architect without making many models to understand the space you are working with. This notion is also true with any designer, as we spent a large portion of the semester brain storming and producing many designs before good models were generated.
