Aisne, Picardy, France - Septmonts Castle was built in the 13th century by Jacques de Bazoches, Bishop of Soissons, as his summer residence. Later in the 17th century the Bishops of Soissons ceased to reside here, it was abandoned and fell to ruin. Today there is an Association of Friends of Septmonts which safeguards and maintains the site.

The Last House on Holland Island, Chesapeake Bay, Maryland. This looks haunting, as nature takes over human creation long gone. The house fell into the bay in Oct. 2010. This island was once inhabited by fishermen and their families. It has been eroded away by waves and weather.
The luxurious Hotel del Salto opened in 1928 to travelers visiting the Tequendama Falls area. Situated just opposite the waterfall and on the edge of the cliff, it provided a breathtaking view to its guests. During the next decades, Bogotá River was contaminated and tourists gradually lost interest. The hotel closed in the early 90's and has been abandoned ever since. The fact that many people in the past chose that spot to commit suicide, made others believe the hotel is haunted. Colombia
