Margaret Brent (1601 - 1671), on 01/21/1648, went before the Maryland colonial assembly to seek two votes in that body, one for herself as a landowner, the other as the legal representative of the absent Lord Baltimore; the assembly turned her down. She was also Governor Calvert's executrix - very powerful woman for the time.
Two Special Operations Airmen receive Silver Star decoration-Tech. Sgt. Ismael Villegas, 24th Special Operations Wing combat control recruit liaison and Staff Sgt. Pictured are two of Lewis County's heroes! General Lightburn, who fought for the Union, and General Stonewall Jackson who fought for the Confederates. They lived across the river from each other and were great friends as youngsters.
