McQueen and Scrambler. In September of 1964 Steve was chosen as a member of the US team for the 'International Six Day Trials', the most challenging motorcycle event in the world. Each member of the team would ride 200 miles per day, Several days into the event disaster struck for Steve when, hurtling along a narrow ravine at high speed, a spectator suddenly rode his motorbike out onto the track and sideswiped Steve. The race was over for Steve McQueen.
If ever there is any doubt in the value of a great star its how they thrive after death. Here McQueen is seen wearing his Bell Helmet featuring the classic blue colour with white skunk stripes of team USA. Bell have re-released the helmet as a replica and you will pay up to £300 for the pleasure, almost twice the price of competitive off road racing helmets.

steve mcqueen - The badass is an uncommon man of supreme style. He does what he wants, when he wants, where he wants. You won't find him on facebook, myspace, msn et cetera because he is probably out being cool somewhere. He might be on a motorcycle, but it's probably not a Harley or a crotch rocket because he won't spend that much money to be accepted.
