These odd-looking creatures are, in fact, two-day-old zebrafish larvae, as seen through a scanning electron microscope.

Eurypharynx pelecanoides, commonly called the pelican eel, the gulper eel and the umbrella-mouth gulper, is a deep-sea fish.

"A tiny creature from our deepest oceans. Known as a Polychaete (scale worm), it survives intense sea pressures around hydrothermal vents."
