According to the wiki on India, "The Indian Peafowl (Pavo cristatus) is the Indian national bird. It roosts in moist and dry-deciduous forests, cultivated areas, and village precincts." The national bird of India! Who'd a thought it?!? Not me, that's for sure. What a lovely surprise.
