Study of an outstretched arm for a fresco, by Michelangelo c 1508. Michelangelo's style, known as Mannerism, was based on the elegant and expressive poses of his subjects. The position of the hands and feet were key to this. This study shows his attention to perfecting the angles and nuances of the hand.
