On our last full day of hiking, John and I took a trail from the top of the Grand Canyon North Rim down to what looks like a pile of red rocks (center). On the way up a small storm moved through and we were hit with hail and sleet as 30+ mph wind gusts blew red sand everywhere. Snow flurries formed on the side of the cliff. It was definitely the most adventurous day of our trip. The storm passed and we decided to dry off with more hiking, a total of 11 miles that day.
