Okay, bear with me on this one. "Trapped In the Closet" is a series of songs by R. Kelly that follows a continuing storyline through a 40-chapter "hip hopera." It occurs to me that this series could be adapted into an English-class lesson plan for a unit on epic poetry. It would perhaps be more relevant to inner-city public school students than say, "The Odyssey" or "Beowulf," but would need to be heavily edited for language and content before presenting it in a classroom.
