Thicker paste and painting definitely worked better. I'd also make a big batch, then separate it and dye it. Homemade Microwave Puffy Paint ~ Mom's Crafty Space. one cup of flour mixed in 3 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt enough water to make it the consistency of pancake batter. We divided our mix into four parts and put them into snack size Ziploc baggies along with some food coloring. Part of the fun was squishing it all around to mix up the colors!
RAINY DAY FUN - We had great fun with microwave puffy painting on saturday at our arts & crafts class and the kids would have kept experimenting for the day if their parents hadn’t come to whisk them away!!.
