'Leaning' Tower of Pisa ('Campanile', the cathedral's free standing bell tower), Piazza dei Miracoli, Pisa, Itay. Situated behind the Cathedral, it is the third oldest structure in the Cathedral Square after the Cathedral and the Baptistry, measuring 183.27 ft from the ground on the low side to 186.02 ft on the high side. The tower has 296 or 294 steps; the seventh floor has two fewer steps on the north-facing staircase. It has 7 bells, one for each note of the musical major scale.
