Benedictine University’s Police Department is the first private University law enforcement agency in Illinois to receive accreditation through the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP). A team of ILEAP inspectors and evaluators, the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and leading law enforcement and criminal justice administrators granted the award in June after a thorough review of the department’s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services.

The Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education voted unanimously today to approve Benedictine University’s application and to grant Benedictine a license to offer educational programs in Mesa, Ariz. The board’s vote at its Thursday meeting grants Benedictine a license to operate an accredited, degree-granting institution of higher learning in Arizona. The approval is the latest step in a process that will allow Benedictine to open a branch campus in downtown Mesa.

Several hundred local high school students had a chance to see ideological passion in action Tuesday morning at Benedictine University. The Lisle campus hosted its annual Youth Government Day activities, this year inviting representatives from a pair of philosophical camps — both of which recently have had substantial influence on the political landscape — to stage a mock rally. The event was a simulation, but some of the students found the messages genuinely convincing.

Library marks University’s 125th birthday with open house, multimedia presentation. The Benedictine University Library will mark the University's 125th birthday and honor National Library Week by presenting "Library of Change: 125 Years of Music and History" from 12:00-1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10.
High school students, their friends and parents can check out Benedictine University during Spring Open House from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1. "Spring Open House" offers high school students the opportunity to meet with the University staff to discuss Benedictine's academic programs, admission requirements, application process, available scholarships and financial aid. Campus tours are also available.
