    American Civil War Uniforms- The Union and the Confederacy wore different uniforms to distinguish from eachother during the Civil War. The Union typically wore navy blue long frock coats while the Confederates wore grey on frock coats that were a tad shorter.

    This is a stunning photograph from 1862. The image shows a Civil War Ambulance crew removing the wounded from a battlefiled. It shows a horse-drawn ambulance, and the Zouave uniforms of this unit.

    Albert Woolson, union drummer boy died in 1956 at 108 yrs. He was the last Civil War veteran.

    Sgt. James H. Harris, a Marylander and member of Company B, Thirty-eight Fifth U.S. Colored Troops, in a photograph taken between 1864-1898. Harris was one of 23 black Union soldiers, who served with such distinction during the Civil War that he received the Medal of Honor.
