WAR IS OVER! (If You Want It) 1969/2012: In 1969, John and I started my ‘War Is Over’ campaign, and I have continued to use that work in various ways to the present. But more importantly, the work has progressed into IMAGINE PEACE – and into IMAGINEPEACETOWER in Iceland. The works were allowed to communicate instantly this time because of the internet.

Eternal Time (1965) @SerpentineUK: The concern that I have, of course, with these works is that people might feel that they’ve seen them before, but I am going to include them, because what’s important isn’t the amount of time that’s passed, but rather the time that’s contained in each work. Each work is carrying eternal time. Eternal time is in your mind. yoko

With Sean amongst the WISH TREES at my exhibition TO THE LIGHT at Serpentine Gallery. Come and write your wishes and hang them on the WISH TREES. All wishes will be sent to IMAGINE PEACE TOWER in Iceland which relights on October 9th, John and Sean's birthdays.

FOOTSTEPS @SerpentineUK: These footsteps of John and me were made 40 years ago in Everson Museum (1971) I remember how John and I were laughing while we made them. It was fun. I still hear us laughing! yoko

APPLE (1966) Excerpt from interview with John Lennon, Rolling Stone 1971: "I went to a preview the night before it opened. I went in - she didn't know who I was or anything - and I was astounded. There was an apple on sale there for two hundred quid; I thought it was fantastic. I got the humour in her work immediately. I didn't have to have much knowledge about avant-garde or underground art, but the humour got me straight away. It was two hundred quid to watch the fresh apple decompose."
