Maple pecan squares. I made these. Bruce and I ate all 36 servings quickly. Kids got none. Normally would make them try new things but when they said no we just ate their portions. They were that good. Subbed whole grain in short bread and toasted the pecan and added vanilla. Next time though will not boil the pecans in the mix as it may have made the pecan soft. Will instead make the mixture separately and pour it over the pecans.
Hopefully this will help keep fruit and veggies from going bad too early. Smart things here. I have practiced many of these most of my life. I will add Tomatoes. I do not refrigerate them ever. I have a hanging basket in the kitchen for my tomatoes and if I cut it I eat the entire tomato then and there. They act of chilling a whole or cut tomato sucks the flavor away immediately.
