Commissioned by Parisian art gallery Philippe Gravier, japanese architect Sou Fujimoto has created an installation in Paris' Jardins des Tuileries composed of suspended metal cubes and plants, for the FIAC art fair.
These are quite amazing. Made strictly by hand in Paris, with no laser cutting involved as explained by Gilles Eichenbaum, the designer, 'Garbage' lamps are discarded coffee and tea pots turned into lace lighting fixtures. Rustic and whimsical at the same time, these artistic creations were made into elegant recycled lighting fixtures that produce unusual shadows. Finely carved and pierced tin was made into a beautiful lace.
