Mont Saint-Michel, Normandy, France is an island commune. The island has held strategic fortifications since ancient times, and since the eighth century AD has been the seat of the monastery from which it draws its name. The structural composition of the town exemplifies the feudal society that constructed it.
Glendalough, County Wicklow, Ireland. This area, whose name means valley of two lakes, is home to one of the oldest monasteries in Ireland, as well as two beautiful lakes and a few other sites of historical interest (most of which are connected with the monastery). It is a great place to go see if you're in Dublin as it is quite close by.
Cliffs of Moher, Ireland. These cliffs are a true testament to a place out of this world. There is nothing quite like the salty air filling your lungs and standing precariously close to life's edge to make you feel alive in such a mystical place.
