The Los Angeles-based Seven Design Works is the brainchild of three of the music industry’s leading creative designers, LeRoy “Roy” Bennett, Tobias Rylander and Cory FitzGerald.

he Seebühne, a massive floating stage on Lake Constance, is the centerpiece of the annual Bregenz Festival in Austria. The stage hosts elaborate opera productions that are famous for their extraordinary set designs, for audiences of up to 7000. The Bregenz Festival is currently underway, with performances through August 21.

Incredible floating stage on Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria. The Bregenzer Festspiele (Bregenz Festival) has become renowned for its unconventional staging of shows. Verdi’s opera, “A Masked Ball” in featured a giant book being read by a skeleton.

Adolphe Appia (Swiss, 1862 - 1928) : one of the most important designers and theorists of the late 19th and early 20th century. He was particularly known for his theories of the use of light on stage, as well as a pioneer in putting light theory into practice. He was an  important set designer for Wagner's operas at Bayreuth ::

This picture really depicts the contrast between darkness and light I wanted for the show. It's kind of soft but still holds a lot of light that would make the colors pop against the black behind them.
