Engineered wood floors are better than planks because they are cheaper and easier to install than wood planks. It is plywood that can be glued to the concrete vs having to nail down your floor to strips of wood like you have to with solid wood strips. You still have the lasting quality of wood floors, it is just cheaper and easier to install. There is also the option of floating engineered hardwood or you could use strips that will click in together.
