Genevieve Dion work is characterised by vitality in colour and texture. She uses the shibori process to sculpt, dye and form highly textured couture garments and accessories created by a single piece of fabric. This is contrast to other garments which are often cut and then pieced together. Dion uses the ancient Japanese craft of Shibori to create swirling, sweeping and geometric patterns. She works with mainly velvet and silk, this is because of their texture, iridescence and rich colour.
