North Cape in Norway is actually not the northernmost place of mainland Europe. It is Knivskjelodden on the picture just two miles west of North Cape. You can only hike there in a few hours which makes it as remote as you would wish. Especially in June when the sun does not set here. It seems to dip behind the horizon but before it does it starts to rise again. Both North Cape and Knivskjelodden are technically not on mainland Europe as they are part of the Magerøya island.
