Ansel Adams - Fern Spring, Dusk

More than beautiful calendars ;-) Ansel Adams is widely known for his dramatic black and white nature photography. He created the Zone System with Fred Archer, which encompassed the entire process from picture taking through development to create consistently great pictures. A great artist!

Ansel Adams Gelatin, Old Faithful Geyser, 1942. ////////// I like that Ansel used a black and white photo for old faithful. The values are descent throughout the photo, lights and dark's are balanced. The proportion is great it's not out of proportion, just perfect. This picture is about pressure build up after a while and explodes into the air. I like this photo because it has great qualities of lights and darkness. ////////// Ansel Adams. Old Faithful Geyser. 1950. The Ansel Adam gallery.
