Gimlet Cocktail 1 1/2 cups vodka or gin 3/4 cup fresh lime juice 3/4 cup simple syrup Ice 6 strips lime zest (optional) $ Preparation In a pitcher or large measuring cup, combine vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup. Fill 6 glasses with ice and pour 1/2 cup gimlet into each one. Garnish with lime zest if you like. Serve immediately.

Lime Drop Martini

Lime Drop Martini replaces the classic lemon with lime. And what a great switch it is!

Candied lemon zest: 4 citrus fruits - 1 cup granulated sugar - 1 cup water. Blanche lemon strips. Simmer for about twenty minutes, until the zest is completely translucent and curling along the edges. The syrup will become thicker and take on some color from the peel. Store the zest in the syrup and allow it to cool before using. Refrigerate in a sealed container.
