Passing By the Fernandina Train Station, Amelia Island, Florida<br /> <br /> "The Florida Railroad Company was incorporated January 8, 1853, with David L. Yulee as president. The line received both federal and state land grants. Despite early financial difficulties, construction was begun from Fernandina, where the main office was located, in 1856. The Final trackage to Cedar Key was lain March 1, 1861, and Florida had its first cross-state railroad." (waymarking)

And for the sophisticates: an utterly contemporary house, with cedar shingles, slate grey and white walls and a perfectly pitched red front door. David Mitchell is on offer, as is Gary Willis.  A troop of young children was passing by and one said "oh that's a little free library" and another said, "yeah, there is one on my street too." They are fostering community spirit and civic responsibility as well.

Lyricist Hal David dies aged 91American lyricist Hal David, who worked with Burt Bacharach to write some of the biggest hits of the 1960s and 70s, has died aged 91.    He died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre of complications from a stroke, said Jim Steinblatt, a spokesman for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). David met Bacharach in New York in 1957, and they went on to write Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head, Walk On By and I Say A Little Prayer…
