      need to Pick this up at the store .great issue with cast iron recipes! If you don't already cook with cast iron, take baby steps and start so you know how to prepare, season, and clean/maintain your cast iron and so that you know how well it cooks and transfers heat!

    To make this strawberry cake with frozen strawberries, simply replace the fresh berries in the cake with the same amount of frozen berries, thawed completely and puréed with their juices. In the filling, replace the fresh berries with an equal amount of frozen berries, thawing, draining, and patting them dry before folding into the whipped cream. Do not use frozen berries for garnish.

    Don’t let the semi-labor-intensive decoration keep you from making this cake. If you want to simplify things, simply spread one color of frosting across the cake in an even layer as you would with any regular cake.
