Osh, Kyrgyzstan — A gypsy girl in the cotton fields on the border with Uzbekistan. As almost everywhere in the world, the gypsies in Kyrgyzstan are much maligned, accused of everything from theft to witchcraft. But in the three days with them in their village outside Osh they were amongst the most hospitable and generous people I’ve ever encountered.
