Mantel clock made for George III | Blue john case with gilt bronze mounts and an enamel dial with blued steel pierced hands by Matthew Boulton (1728-1809) and Wright’s eight day striking movement, 1771.
Antique French Empire "Genre" mantel clock "La Ruche" in patinated bronze and ormolu. The clock stands upon four ormolu bun feet, the base is hexagonal in form. The main body of the hive is in patinated bronze and its cylindrical form is reeded, with the movement and dial inserted into the centre. The twist to the top of the thatched roof forms a little turret with a single ormolu bee at rest. Around the entrance are fixed several other ormolu bees. Circa 1805-10.
