Paper garland,old fashioned way to make a floral garland from wallpaper flowers, was used during the world wars when all arable land was given over to food production and wild flowers were out of season. No pinking or scalloping shears were available and these garlands were a labor of love for the bride. They were cut from donated leftovers and old sampler books, cut out very meticulously by hand and sewn together by hand. My Mother had some Christmas ornaments made this way.
