Ruby Nell Bridges Hall is known as the first black child to attend an all-white elementary school in the South. She attended William Frantz Elementary School at 3811 North Galvez Street, New Orleans, LA 70117

When she was just six years old, Ruby Bridges became one of the first African Americans to integrate elementary schools in the south. She courageously walked into school flanked by four U.S. Marshals. The event was later depicted in a Norman Rockwell painting.
