Paint-chip Word Families: punch square and laminate blank cards and write words on with dry erase markers to help with sight words and spelling- paint chips or laminate chips

Detailed instructions for making this activity using paper towel rolls (flattened), paint stirrer sticks (they give them out for free at home improvement stores…but to be courteous, ask first), scrapbook paper, yarn, white card stock, a glue stick, and a marker.  Optional:  laminator and hot glue gun.

Paint Chip Reading Tools This is a reading activity made out of paint chips. Put the ending sound on the card with the cut-out and then the different starting sounds down the strip. Move the card down the strip and sound out the different words.
