Fan Kuan (范寬 990-1030) is known to be one of the leading artists of the Northern Song landscape painting. The most famous painting by Fan Kuan is titled “Travelers Amid Streams and Mountains.” It is one of the greatest example of the traditional Chinese landscape paintings and a model for all Chinese artists. This monumental painting is based on the Taoist principle of “becoming one with the nature”（天人合一）.
Li Bai (705 – 762), also known as Li Po, was a Chinese poet acclaimed from his own day to the present as a genius and romantic figure who took traditional poetic forms to new heights. He and his friend Du Fu (712–770) were the two most prominent figures in the flourishing of Chinese poetry in the mid-Tang Dynasty that is often called the "Golden Age of China".
