This month we are celebrating and honouring Native American Heritage Month. Honouring, supporting and being in good relation to Indigenous people can look many ways.
This month is an invitation for deep listening, learning, un-learning, reflecting and re-imagining a new future that has yet to be built.
Ways to support Indigenous communities during Native American Heritage Month (and every day).
      • Learn about the traditional territory you’re from and the land you currently reside.
      • Support, uplift and amplify Indigenous voices every single day of the year and commit to long term partner and relationships.
      • Learn about the history of your city, the treaties, legislation.
      • Unlearn the negative biases and stereotypes that you have towards Indigenous people.
      • Donate to Indigenous led organizations, non-profits and charities.
      • Demand better for the next seven generations and write your local MP, MLA and apply pressure to begin to implement the 94 Calls to Action by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the 231 Calls to Justice, the United Nations Declaration of Indigenous Rights.
