Since its founding in 1875, anyone, regardless of artistic ability or background, could study at the Art Student's League with minimal or no entrance requirements. The school is based on an atelier system, which means instructors teach their classes independent from any overarching curriculum. In 1892, the League moved to 215 West 57th Street, where they’ve remained since.
