In a decade bombarded with Image upstarts, we had Marvels. I know Alex Ross loves DC superheroes more, and it shows in Kingdom Come and other DC projects. But I guess I'll never forget Marvels in which I get blown away by the art of Alex Ross for the first time. I particularly liked the sketches in Marvels issue 0, like this Namor page. We were like, those are sketches!? Using markers!? Gah.
