A similar theme-room motel is still in operation in the Wisconsin Dells called the Don Q Inn.

The Belvédère du Rayon Vert was a hotel in Cerbère,France, designed in the art deco style by thePerpignan architect, Léon Baille, and built between 1928 and 1932. It has the overall appearance of a ship. It has its own cinema, and a tennis court on the roof. In 1987, the building was protected under the list of historic monuments (inscription). Part of the building has been brought back into use as apartments, with some original features. The building is open to visitors most afternoons.
The Abandoned Island of Hashima (15 Photos). Also called “Battleship Island”, Hashima Island off the coast of Japan was once the most densely populated city on planet earth. From 1890 to 1974, the island was a coal mining facility. But when petroleum replaced coal in the 1960’s, coal mines across Japan began shutting down and Hashima was abandoned, giving it a new nickname, “Ghost Island.”
