Rickenbacker 331 Light Show, 1971 The unusual Light Show model was made in limited quantities from 1970 to 1975. Behind the translucent top of this guitar are rows of different colored bulbs that light up depending on which particular frequencies are played.
Hofner Galaxie. Covered in vinyl with mother-of-toilet-seat tortoise pickguard, tortoise headstock, and crazy-ass tortoise-and-pearloid stripe position markers. Roller volume controls, one for each pickup, and a master tone roller. Three staple-tops. Such "deluxe" appointments (and those Humbuckers) take a guitar that started out as a poor-man's Stratocaster into what Lord Buckley used to refer to as "the great cathedral-head of BEAUTY." This is the stuff, this is.
