This is not only my favorite book, but favorite movie as well. This book has so much more to offer than the movie could even began to unmask. I honestly wish that Alice Walker could have written it longer! It's southern setting keeps you wanting more.
I love African American literature. It always blows my naive little mind and opens up a world that is in my backyard but that I've never imagined or bothered to understand. This book is one of my favorites. I love all the side stories that feed into the main story.
This book sparked my interest in African American literature. my favorite book & movie
Read this my Senior Year. Loved it. It was for our "banned" book paper.

September Book Review: Wonder is a great book to read aloud to older elementary students or middle school students.
Wonder, the new young adult novel by R.J. Palacio, would be the perfect book to read aloud to a 5th grade class as a way to reflect on topics such as kindness and inclusion, meanness and exclusion.-- JUST PURCHASED IT TODAY! :)
I started to read this book in my book club I really enjoyed it and i think it would be a really good book for a read aloud in class. I tried it with my intern students and they loved it! it talks about bullying and how kids in school want to fit in so it is really relevant to the students. Wonder by R. J. Personally, I suggest ignoring the movie, which, though well cast, was not a great adaptation of the first book in this trilogy. Cornelia Funke takes readers on a fantasy journey into the power of books. Along the way, you'll meet several well-rounded characters and explore themes of family ties, good versus evil, loyalty, courage, and love.

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. This is one of my all-time favorite book covers and stories. I bought this hardcover edition even though the paperback was much cheaper because the paperback edition used a different cover.
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. This is a young adult fantasy novel (the first book of the Inkheart trilogy). After her father reads from the book "Inkheart", a fictional evil character appears. Maggie must go on an adventure, they type you read about in books. This story will get students involved in reading. Since it is only a trilogy, the student will not get bored with the series.
Inkheart series from Cornelia Funke - wonderful fantasy with strong characters. My 8 yr old & I are reading these. Not sure which of us likes them more!
Inkheart (original title: Tintenherz) is a young adult-child fantasy novel by Cornelia Funke, and the first book of the Inkworld trilogy. #Inkworldtrilogy #book1

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is definitely one of the best classic novels read in high schools. Although the novel is based on two gangs of boys, “greasers” and the “Socs” it is a great read for both male and female audiences, as it is relatable to the young adult audience and holds strong messages in the themes such as, friendship, love, and loss. (Francesca)
The Outsiders - Back in high school, I was Ponyboy. This book spoke to me in so many ways; it is honest, true, and has many great applicable morals. Definitely top notch. Stay gold, Ponyboy.
The Outsiders. In junior high school I read this book a million times, almost had it memorized I liked it so well. It's still one of my top favorite books.
From blog post titled 'S.E Hinton’s ‘The Outsiders’ and Why We Don’t Stay Gold': "‘Stay gold Ponyboy,’ says Johnny before he dies. It is a line from S. E. Hinton’s seminal Young Adult book The Outsiders that has entrenched itself in our culture. It is about not losing all of our innocence and it may seem hopelessly melodramatic, but as Hinton says herself, it works, ‘because kids feel that way.’"
The Outsiders. One of my all time favorite books as a young girl. I cried when I finished reading it because it was over.
"The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton was one of my all time favorites..."Stay gold, Pony Boy." Loved that quote. Great movie, too. S.E. Hinton was 16 when SHE wrote this book.
(*One of my all time favorite books. I was about 13 or 14 when I first read this book and I could swear that the author followed me around my whole life and wrote down everything I'd ever felt. It made a powerful impact on me. I related to so many of the characters, I felt they were my friends.Stay gold,Ponyboy, stay gold._LL)

Another great in my opinion. This iconic book about totalitarian authority has influenced english language and culture more than i think even Orwell imagined. Its influences even stretch so far as to sparking the idea for popular C4/5 show Big Brother. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=henqOo387-E 1984 http://www.litlovers.com/reading-guides/13-fiction/746-1984-orwell
Classic book about becoming automatons of the state and desperately trying to maintain personal freedom.
Big brother is watching -- OK, I'm cheating here because in High School I, like everyone else, was supposed to read this - I did not. I read it in --- 1984!
1984 by George Orwell one of the the books that I actually read in high school lol it was pretty good.
"Nineteen Eighty-Four" is a novel by George Orwell published in 1949. It is a dystopian novel about Oceania, a society tyrannized by The Party and its totalitarian ideology. As literary political fiction and as dystopian science-fiction, Nineteen Eighty-Four is a classic novel in content, plot, and style. Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, Newspeak, and memory hole, have entered everyday use since its publication.
1984. My favorite book in high school. I still love a great dystopian story.
A book I read in High School and loved...Big Brother is always watching!

The book was actually good for a junior fiction book. I read this when I was in the 4th grade.
Holes is by Louis Sachar. This is a fiction book for grades four through nine. Luck is not on Stanley's side. Actually, it's been against him and his family for generations. So when Stanley is falsely accused of a crime, and sent to "camp" as a punishment, it's not really a surprise. What is a surprise are the things he learns there. Stanley discovers who the camp boys are, that no one is a zero, and while history affects the future, the present does to. This is an amazing book.
so good. read it if you didn't read it in elementary school... or even if you did...
