GREAT idea for teaching spacing when writing sentences! --Blog has other great ideas too
Great idea - bingo chips or counters between words for the kids that always forget spaces!
Teach children to leave spaces between words: they need to leave enough room for a tiny smiley face sticker between words. No space, no sticker.
Kids love using bingo chips to remember to leave spaces between words. The original idea, which involved putting stickers on finished work, came from MakeTakeTeach. I like to improvise upon this idea and have kids put colorful bingo chips between their words as they write. My beginning writers get so excited about using the chips that they often double the length of their written work!
