A large diamond tiara belonging to the Thurn und Taxis family, known as the Empire Tiara. Designed as a series of large diamond clusters, some ontop of each other, others topped with honeysuckle motfis.

Made for Florence, the wife of the second Baron Poltimore, treasurer to Queen Victoria's household 1872-1874. Later owned by HRH Princess Margaret.

The Poltimore tiara, made by Garrards for Florence, Lady Poltimore,wife of the second Baron Poltimore, in 1870 was worn by Princess Margaret on her wedding day. The tiara was sold after princess Margaret's death for about 2 million dollars.
