"I don't know what my son's sexual orientation is going to be and because I don't know, I am about the business of creating a world where he can express himself in ways that are healthy and where he is safe to be who he is." Mary Jamis, a lesbian woman, was ARRESTED yesterday after she and her partner sought a marriage license in North Carolina. Clarification: Jamis and a friend (not her partner) then refused to leave the courthouse until Jamis would be allowed to marry her partner. They were arrested for their refusal to leave the building, not for requesting the marriage license itself. ----I still think that this is a brave and badass protest.
Gay Marriage The widespread use of the term is in itself a sign of discrimination. After all, who says, "I have an interracial wedding on Sunday" anymore? and for Justice Thomas to be against gay marriage when his own marriage was against thte law not to long ago is so hypocritical
