Liberty was rescued from a neglectful home. When she first came to live with a HAL volunteer, she was extremely depressed, stressed, malnourished/dehydrated, and suffered from a horrible case of fleas, parasites, and ringworm. She also had a jaw injury that left her mouth a little crooked. After some veterinary care and lots of TLC, Liberty is a happy, healthy girl who left her sad days in the past! Follow on FB:

Drago was a kitten who found himself in a very bad situation. He was locked in an apartment building basement with no means of escape. People in the building heard his cries and asked the landlord to unlock the door, but to no avail! It took a persistent volunteer to get that door unlocked and, today, Drago is a healthy, happy boy who always follows the sunbeams! Follow on FB:

This gorgeous redhead was pulled from Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter. He was pointed out to us by the animal control officer working that day and we are so happy that we were able to provide him vet care and have him transported to his forever home! There are many, many beautiful cats waiting for a home at Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter in NJ. Give them a visit! Follow on FB:

Leia was found in the middle of a busy street, drinking out of a puddle. Our volunteer pulled her car over and it didn't take much convincing to coax Leia over. She was treated for malnutrition and dehydration. She now has a forever home and a water bowl instead of a puddle! Follow on FB:
