Here's how we set up "The Beast," our multi-row Seeder setup that works with both the Hoss Single and Double Wheel Hoes. You can plant three rows of the same crop or one row of three different crops all in one pass. Available at https://hosstools.com/product/beast.
A couple of days ago we planted onion sets that we ordered from Dixondale Farms. We used the Hoss Double Wheel Hoe and NEW Row Maker to prepare the ground for transplanting! The Row Maker worked like a dream for making furrows for the onion plants! https://hosstools.com/product/row-maker/
Instead of buying onion plants from a local feed and seed store this year, we decided to save some money and grow them from seed in our greenhouse. We ordered some Yellow Granex and Red Creole onion seed and planted two flats of each in the greenhouse.
Here's the final video in our "Beast" planting series. Here we check our seed plates with the seed we plan to use and then we head out to the high tunnel to plant chard, kale and mustard all simultaneously with our multi-row Seeder known as "The Beast." #hosstools #growyourownfood
Grow the Best Watermelons Ever - Watermelons are one of our top 5 favorite spring/summer crops. We've tried many varieties over the years, but the Crimson Sweet is by far our favorite. We plant from transplants grown in the greenhouse to get a head start on the growing season. #growyourownfood
How to Transplant Tomatoes, Peppers and Eggplant - Whether you grow your own transplants or buy them, it's important to know how to plant each into the ground to maximize growing success. Some transplants need to be planted deeper while others should be planted at ground level.
It's time to plant for fall! We recently planted 5 varieties of pelleted carrot seed using the Double Wheel Hoe (https://hosstools.com/product/double-wheel-hoe/) with Seeder Attachment. Our #3 Seed Plate works great for pelleted seeds like carrot and chard. #wheelhoe #growyourownfood
We used the Double Wheel Hoe (https://hosstools.com/product/double-wheel-hoe/) with Plow Attachments (https://hosstools.com/product/plow-set) to hill our corn right in time before the big storms came on Saturday. Throwing dirt to the sweet corn keeps the plants from getting uprooted and blown over during periods of high winds. #growyourownfood
