≈DIY Canned Food Storage Tutorial - flush with the wall, customizable for can size, rotates cans, and takes very little space. I've seen a lot of these, and I think THIS ONE has to be the best design. Takes a little work (but they all do!) and this one is really a fairly simple design with very basic materials and tools needed.

I think little details would be nice, coming off of the desk especially, made the shelving unit. I like the idea of tape rolls being attached to his desk as if he's a handy man and is prepared for any situation. Tapes for every need.
