when we re-do kiddo's room and make her a loft bed i'm going to do the basket idea underneath b/c we'll put her little chest under it and joe will build her a hinged desktop. SO COOL!

most beautiful example yet of painted stairs. Maybe paint the risers and keep the treads wood?

Spanish Revival Style- with painted or tiled risers on the stairs

As a child, I adored the idea of a window seat. I thought I could curl up and read in the warmth of the sunlight streaming in alllll day. As an adult... I feel the same way. :-)

No yellow stairs for me, but I heart the idea. We can do this for our stairwell leading to the basement and I'm thinking we'll use one, two or all three colors of the basement.

Great way to make sure it turns out the way you want is to cut paper (i used tissue paper) the size of each frame you have. Then tape them to the wall and you can reposition the paper until you are satisfied and then hang each frame. Also so they dont move use stick-um candle adhesive on the back (just the corners), it wipes off if you ever move them so there is no damage to your walls.
